Is the shuffle truly random?
Yes. It uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every arrangement is equally likely before rules are applied.
What if the rules cannot all be met?
The generator keeps the arrangement that breaks the fewest rules and tells you how many pairs are still sitting close together.

Yes. Every tool works free in your browser with no account, no sign-up and no student logins.
Where are my class lists stored?
Only in this browser, on this device. Student names are never uploaded to a server, which keeps you clear of most student data privacy concerns.
Can I import my roster from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Paste names one per line, or import a CSV exported from Excel, Google Sheets or your school information system. A name column, or first and last name columns, are detected automatically.
